What year did you first present at FILEX?

2019 on my fourth year of application – never give up!

What does an average working day look like for you?

Getting up around 5.30 to walk the dog, being mum, school drop off (or juggling home school in our current life), a run or weights/crossfit session, grabbing a coffee and aiming to start work by 9.30 -10am a bunch of zoom calls and working on my GSD (Get Shit Done) list. I also aim to meditate BUT it doesn’t always happen. THEN becoming mum again and often times a taxi driver getting them to and from all of the things (enjoying NOT doing that through this period) – I don’t mind a bit of TV downtime of an evening or chilling with hubby

Raising two amazingly challenging children and trying not to mess them up too much! In business – supporting trainers to support more and more mums through further technical education and buidling their business.

And the most challenging?

Creating boundaries around work and home at times – I’ve got better at this over the year because you HAVE to and I want to be present with my kids.

What would you be doing if you hadn’t followed this career path?

One of my first jobs was an illusionists assistant so who knows ๐Ÿ˜‰

Im driven, if a little stubbon – I love rising to a challenge. Naturally intuative which I’ve learned to listen to more and I’m a pretty emotional person – I feel all the feels!

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

My kids and husband are my main priority – it’s interesting the further along lifes jounney you get the less you can find that you can’t live without….. Don’t mind a bit of daily chocolate too ๐Ÿ˜‰

What’s your favourite thing in the world to do?

Finding the highest point at sunrise or sunset in a new place – ideally with a 360 degree view!

What does an average working day look like for you?

Im pretty predictable. I’ve been working at home for years so I have a pretty good routine in place. I normally get up 5.30 – 6am, go for a walk, eat breaky, journal, listen to something inspiration/read something inspirational then get into the day. I pretty much stick to 90 min work blocks throughout the day with regular breaks that include training (and now since COVID – training at home), watching a sneaky 30 min show on Netflix, stretching and staring at a wall (for reals – this helps me stay sane!). I make sure I switch off by 6 pm at the latest each night to chill with Hubby. I;m a big belieer in creating lifestyle freedom by being disciplined with your schedule.

Whats the most rewarding part of your role?

In the Biz Coaching arm of my business I LOVE seeing my Fit Pro clients have massive ‘ah- ha’ moments in their business. When they realise that they CAN create the business they desire by valuing themselves and learning to back themselves in their business decisions. It’s sooo freaking rewarding to watch them step up and become leaders in their fitness community, and I love it when they start making the revenue they deserve. In my education arm, it’s similar – I love watching Personal Trainers finally ‘get it’ when it comes to training women. All of a sudden all the pieces of exercise physiology, psychology and programming gel together and they get excited because they have an evidence based framweork that helps them help their female clients reach their potential.

And the most challenging?

Integrating many moving parts in my business and also maintaining a ‘beginners’ mindset. Having been in the industry for 20 years it’s easy for me to forget the challenges that newish trainers face so I have to constantly listen and tune into what my audience are saying and what they are struggling with, in order to best serve them.

What would you be doing if you hadn’t followed this career path?

I would def have a similar business – one where teaching, learning and having adventures were invovled.

What 3 traits define you?

Hmmm – my outstanding humour …. kidding! I’m not that funny :). I’m an action taker and like to perform at high levels (in all areas of my life), I value Integrity, so operate with truthfulness and integrity in mind at all times, and I’m super curious – I like to know all the things about all the things

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?

My husband Mike. He is my rock, best friend, biggest learning curve and advisor. He calls me forward every single day, and because of our relationship I am able to pursue my dreams and passion. Also, chocolate – I have it every day ๐Ÿ™‚

What’s your favourite thing in the world to do?

Hiking and being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature.

Favourite Game of Thrones Character?

(if you don’t watch Game of Thrones… don’t worry about answering this question… and unfriend yourself from my Facebook please) As cliche as this is – Deanerys Targaryen …. she was badass (until she lost the plot at the end)
