What are AFAA CEU Courses?
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are points you earn to maintain your Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification.
A AFAA CEU Course means the course is run by a AFAA-approved provider, and that provider has registered the course with AFAA for a pre-approved number of CEUs.
Each hour of learning equals 0.1 CEU.
For example, a 10-hour course would earn you 1.0 CEUs.
AFAA CEUs ensure your continuing education meets the Athletics and Fitness Association of America’s quality standards and counts directly toward your recertification.
What is a AFAA approved CEU Provider?
An AFAA-Approved Provider is an organization that has met AFAA’s quality standards for continuing education. Completing courses from an approved provider ensures your CEUs are automatically accepted toward recertification—saving you the hassle of submitting extra paperwork.
How many CEUs do I need?
To renew your AFAA certification, you need 2.0 CEUs (20 hours) every two years. AFAA requires that 0.1 CEU (1 hour) comes from CPR/AED certification, with the remaining 1.9 CEUs earned through approved continuing education courses.
