AFAA Certification FAQs
How often do I need to recertify?
AFAA requires your AFAA recertification every two years. This requirement has been put in place to adhere to AFAA’s commitment to health and safety protection. It also ensures that AFAA trained professionals meet, instill, and maintain the principles of the organization. Recertification aims to maintain a high level of standards in an unregulated industry.
How many AFAA CEUs do I need to recertify?
You will need to complete at least 15 approved contact hours during the two-year certification period. All AFAA CEU Courses are free and unlimited to enrolled students though, so you can sign up to as many as you like as long as you can balance them all responsibly.
Are there additional requirements for AFAA-CPT recertification?
You will need to maintain your current AED and CPR certifications to get an AFAA Recertification. Candidates with disabilities will be given reasonable accommodations and will be required to take the exam at a PSI testing centre where they will be a part of an in-person proctored exam.
What providers can provide AFAA-certified CEUs?
Only AFAA-approved providers such as Fitness Education Online can offer reputable AFAA CEU Courses to AFAA professionals. Contact us for more information on our AFAA CEU.
